Meet the Dwellers No. 1

Trixie has been watching from between the mushrooms.

The first in my Meet the Dwellers series, Trixie brings us in close to one of the little lives inhabiting the world of the Woodland Watchers. Rather than stepping back to see an entire chapter unfold, these pieces move closer, giving each dweller a moment of their own.

Trixie is quiet, curious, and perhaps a little cautious. She knows the paths beneath the ferns, the best places for mushrooms after the rain, and exactly how long she can watch you before you realize you're being watched.

Freehand pyrography on a natural-edge basswood slab, approximately 11 inches tall. Original artwork, drawn and burned entirely by hand.
