Rest.
The Clearing marks a deliberate turning in my body of work, a movement out from beneath the woods and into open ground.
Each piece in this collection is drawn freehand and woodburned by hand on live edge slabs, without templates or transfers. Every line is placed directly into the grain, allowing the natural movement of the wood to guide the composition. No two pieces can be replicated. Each is an original work.
The Clearing explores what follows density, the breath that comes after survival, the stillness that settles when light reaches the earth. These meadow scenes are not simply landscapes; they are spaces of quiet restoration. Small creatures rest in open air. Distance widens. The horizon lowers. Mercy is found in room to breathe.
This collection carries a different weight than the woods before it. It is gentler, but no less intentional. Every blade of grass, every shadow, every animal is considered and placed with care over many hours of hand-burned detail.
The Clearing is not about spectacle. It is about presence. About the subtle welcome found in open places. About the quiet strength of standing in light without urgency.
Each piece within this meadow series stands as a singular chapter; original, unrepeated, and created to endure.
